Mill of Tilquhillie Local Directions

Local directions to:  Mill of Tilquhillie, Tilquhillie, Banchory, Aberdeenshire, AB31 6JS, Tel: 01330 844616

There are a lot of properties in this area all with the same postcode AB31 6JS, so please read the local directions carefully as sat navs can get a bit confused as you get close to the house.  We are clearly signposted and just off the main tarmac road so avoid going down any unmade tracks.

DIRECTIONS FROM BANCHORY

At the traffic lights on Banchory High Street, turn down the hill (Bridge Street).  After about 150 yards, take the left turning over a very narrow single lane bridge(the Brig o Feugh).

IMMEDIATELY after you have crossed the bridge, take the right hand turning signposted Tilquhillie.

After about 100 yards, the road forks, and you should take the left fork again signposted Tilquhillie.  After about 1.3 miles, take the left hand turning.  It is the only left turning, and has dotted white lines across it.  (If you reach a driveway to a house signed Marchburn, then you have gone about 50 yards too far)

Mill of Tilquhillie is the first property on the left, after about 50 yards.  You should pass our pond on the left.  Our house is the creamy pinkish one in the background, and the Mill cottage is in the foreground.

DIRECTIONS FROM PETERCULTER

From Peterculter continue on the North Deeside Road, passing through Drumoak, and Crathes.  About ½ mile after the border sign for Crathes, you will see a left turning, signposted for Stonehaven (A957Take the right hand turning IMMEDIATELY after you have crossed the river, signposted to Bridge of Feugh, (you are now on the South Deeside Road).

One mile from this junction, past the border sign for Tilquhillie, you will see a small grey cottage on the left, and a pale yellow cottage on the right.  Take the left hand turning immediately after the grey cottage, (this is the first left after the Durris Bridge) and, after a hundred yards, you will be at a crossroads.  Go straight over the crossroads (passing Knappach Mansion House on your right), and after just under a mile, you will find us on your right.  The Mill cottage is in the foreground with our house behind. The house sign is very clear and situated on the left of the drive.

If you find yourselves at a T – junction on a hill, you have gone too far.  Turn around and we will be the first house on your left.

If you do get lost ring us on 01330 844616 and we can help you.

DIRECTIONS FROM STONEHAVEN

These directions assume that most people driving from the South will eventually arrive on the A90 through Perth and Dundee.

About one and a quarter hour’s driving after passing through Dundee, take the Stonehaven/Banchory turn-off.  Follow the signs to Stonehaven/Banchory, which will bring you into the centre of Stonehaven.  At the traffic lights turn left, signposted Banchory.

BE CAREFUL HERE BECAUSE THE NEXT ROAD IS EASY TO MISS.

After about 50 yards, take the small turning on right.  It is signed to Banchory, but the sign is high up on the left, and can get easily obscured.

Follow this road for one and a half miles and you will come to a roundabout with a large new housing estate on the right.  Go straight over the roundabout following the Banchory signs.

Stay on this road for about 12 miles.

You will come down a long hill, where you will be able to see a large river, the Dee, and the Crathes/Durris bridge over the river, in front of you. DO NOT GO OVER THE BRIDGE.

Turn left so that you now have the River Dee on your right, signposted to Fettercairn.

After one mile (you should pass the Tilquhillie border sign), you will see a small grey cottage on your left, and a creamy yellow one on your right.  Turn left down the side of the grey cottage. At the top of the road, you will come to a crossroads which you should go straight over.

Continue down this road for about a mile, and you will see us on the right.  Our house is the creamy pinkish one in the background, with the Mill cottage in the foreground.

If you reach a T-junction, you have gone too far, and need to retrace your tracks.  We would then be the first house on the left.

If you have any difficulties, please ring us on a mobile phone on 01330 844616 and, if we are here, we would be happy to help.
